Ms.
Pierre then moved to Los Angeles, California where she embarked
into the entertainment world. Working at Creative Artist Agency
(CAA) in the music department gave Ms. Pierre the opportunity and
experience to deal with many famous celebrities management teams,
such as Tina Turner, Enrique Iglesais, Julio Iglesais Sr. &
Jr., Macy Gray, TLC, and Third Eye Blind. After leaving CAA, Ms.
Pierre’s explorations lead her to the institution Music Television
(MTV). At MTV, Ms. Pierre had the privilege to do rights and clearances
and worked as production assistant for BIORHYTM, and worked along
side the casting crew of the Behind the Music. “Working at MTV gave
me a sense of accomplishment because it was a chance to be part
of, and contribute to an organization that I grew up watching. This
was a very fulfilling experience.”
After
leaving MTV, Ms. Pierre was enrolled in the Agent Trainee Program
at the Agency of the Performing Arts (APA). Shortly after a month
she was promoted to Agent Assistant to one of the top music agents
in the industry. In the music department at APA, Ms. Pierre was
able to work with the likes of Patti Austin, Jeffery Osborne, Rick
Springfield, George Benson and KISS. Ms. Pierre’s many experiences
with the talent agencies, gave her the drive to create Chere Management.
There, she started her roster with ten actors and two musical acts,
booking for her clients anything from shows, movies, commercials
etc. After revamping Chere Management, Ms. Pierre focused her energies
primarily on one musical artist, and helped him attain celebrity
status.
After
six years in Los Angeles, Ms. Pierre moved back to Miami, Florida
where she was the host of her very own TV show called Model Magazine
TV Show. Ms. Pierre would interview professionals and community
leaders and lend her expertise in acquiring ad sales for the station.
After volunteering for several organizations in the community, Ms.
Pierre starting working for an organization called Music Fest Miami.
At this organization, the focal point was tolerance and education
of different cultures through music. Ms. Pierre was the Caribbean
Market Liaison and in charge of the local artist participation.
During that time Ms. Pierre was able to meet the Mayor’s from all
the thirty-two municipalities in South Florida. “My time with Music
Fest Miami, afforded me the opportunity to meet many community leaders
and dignitaries which formed lasting relationships.”
Ms.
Pierre’s experiences lead her back to politics again, working as
a special aide to the Mayor of the City of Miami, Manuel Diaz. Ms.
Pierre had the opportunity to help start up the Festival, Films,
Arts, Culture and Entertainment (FACE) department. During her time
there, Ms. Pierre worked closely with many of the City of Miami
Departments Neighborhood Enhancement Teams (NET), MLK Revitalization
Reclaim the Dream Committee, Heart of our Parks Music Summer Series,
Youth AIDS Walk, Latin Grammy’s, Source Awards, Haitian Music Entertainment
Awards, Compa Fest and the Mardi Gras.
Currently,
Ms. Pierre is the President/CEO of the Haitian Heritage Museum in
which her primary focus is “to create a legacy for the Haitian people
while educating the world about their many contributions.”
Ms.
Pierre’s affiliates are with Haitian Lawyers Association (HLA),
Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association (BESLA) Howard
University Alumni, Coalition for Haitian Rights, Haitian American
Leadership Council, mentor for Take Stock In Children, and Class
of 2004/2005 Leadership Miami.
