Ayiti Exposé
Ayiti Exposé is the Haitian Heritage Museum’s signature program which provides outreach cultural workshops to Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Ayiti Exposé fosters awareness about the Haitian American culture while promoting self esteem and tolerance of others. The program’s aim is to increase cultural awareness and diversity of Haitian culture through Haitian art, music, history, and literature to students and Miami-Dade County residents. Various artists conduct lectures, musical presentations, art exhibits, and storytelling to increase the knowledge about the Haitian culture to Haitian American students, and non-Haitians alike. The project reaches hundreds of students throughout local high schools and their feeder patterns, Elementary and Middle schools.

Museum Magnet
The Haitian Heritage Museum collaborates with local museum partners to facilitate programs to students that combine historic presentation and Art & Artifact exhibits of Haiti. This unique programming is aimed at highlighting similarities and differences between diverse cultures and contributions they have made to each other by using object base and project base learning methods. The Museum Magnet Schools of Choice are North Miami Senior High, North Miami Middle, and W.J. Bryan Elementary.

Month of May
The Month of May is a nationally dedicated period in which special programming for the Haitian Community is implemented by various community groups in the U.S. During the “month of May”, The Haitian Heritage Museum puts on a cadre of cultural events such as Book Fairs, Art of Culture exhibits, and Poetry readings. The events are held throughout the city of Miami to educate the community about the rich culture of Haiti. Our target groups are adults, children, and families. With a wide array of talented Haitian artists and local partnerships, the program addresses the need for a greater understanding of different cultures among diverse groups, and the need to create an opportunity to celebrate our respective cultures that make up the South Florida community. Providing such a platform will allow everyone to contribute to strengthening our community as a whole.
